We became a family when we were united with our long awaited daughter, Jia Olivia, on May 7, 2008.

The Sky is Clearing!
We're almost out from under a few pretty tough days. The jet lag was pretty mean and we're still trying to get back to normal. Jia has had a few tough days too. Poor little sweetie has had 4 cribs, 4 different types of formula and a 24 hour travel day to withstand in the past couple of weeks. She's also teething - getting not only her two front bottom teeth but we think she's beginning to get her side molars too. Yikes. Aunt Lisa and I frantically made a trip to Target Tuesday to find a formula she could tolerate as she seemed to be screaming in pain and just plain would not eat. We were standing in Target opening a bottle of liquid gold (aka Alimentum) and added a bit of rice cereal and then out to the car to heat in the portable bottle warmer and Jia finally ate! Oh the relief. She seems to be tolerating this formula well now and is eating somewhat normally. We have her first pediatrician's visit for a physical on Friday and hope to get a plan for her feeding at that time. She needs to begin to eat more than formula and rice cereal! She did take a few bites of babyfood carrots yesterday so we're heading down the right path! The mom also needs to get on a feeding plan! I'm eating very little and have lost more than 10 lbs. Not the right was to lose weight! But what the heck, maybe I'll look better in my summer clothes! Goodness knows I could stand to lose some! I'll post some pictures from home soon. Thanks to everyone for following our travels - we'll keep posting for a while longer - I know everyone is anxious to know how Miss Jia adjusts.

Glad to hear you are coming out of the twighlight zone. Been there and done that with baby food/formula. I think we bought and tried everything on the market and then some. Would be happy to discuss if you need help.
Can't wait to see pictures and hear about your adventure.
Hey guys.
Leia has been under a lot of stress too since we have been back. Mainly the time change. I am trying to switch her over but she is resistant to my methods of persuasion. She is doing better though and I am sure Jia will much better by next week. Our trip was pretty hellacious too. Hope you are both doing well and hope to eat with you guys again in the near future.
