It never fully set in today that today is the first time I qualify to celebrate mother's day as a mom. It's been such a busy day but I do know that I am truly blessed to have spent mother's day with my mom and my daughter - we began the day visiting an incredible botanical garden here in Guangzhou. We have dozens of pictures but I'll only post a few shots. We also had the infamous red couch photos today and all of the babies were so good. Jia was able to sit for the entire photo session! All of the babies had on traditional Chinese dresses - I'll post those pictures tomorrow. It is evening here and I'm quite exhausted so I'll keep this post short. I just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to Laura and Lisa and all of my dear girl friends who are also moms. I'm beginning to "get" the extraordinary rewards that come with the title of mom. Love to all!

Happy Mother's Day to my baby sister on her first "official" Mother's Day. You have, of course, been a wonderful aunt for many years to all the nieces and nephews who love you dearly, but it is special for all of us that you now have a munchkin of your own. Happy Mother's Day also to OUR mommy, who is with you in China!

We missed not sharing Mother's Day in person with everyone this year, but it was for the very best of reasons. Thinking of all the future family gatherings, which will mean just that much more, is exciting indeed! Only a week until the family is home and we can't wait!
