A lot of folks have inquired as to whether we were impacted by the massive earthquake to hit China yesterday. We are fine and did not feel tremors. It is a very sad event obviously for China and her people and those impacted by this are certainly on our minds.
On the Jia front all continues to be great. She is a very happy baby and seems to be thriving under our love and care. She is quite fussy in the afternoons and I haven't quite figured out what might be bothering her but I'm thinking its either her tummy since we've had to change her formula or the fact that she's teething. It will be so much easier when we get home since it is hard to keep organized in a hotel room! And you all know what a beacon of organization I am at home! We went shopping this morning at the pearl and jade market and got some really cool stuff! Tomorrow is the visit to the Budist Temple where we will have Jia blessed. Terrell got to visit Jia's orphanage yesterday and that is probably best left to a post of its own. It was a very emotional day for Terrell. I am so happy he was able to make the trip - it was a long one - 4 hours each way. He's an awesome daddy.
Hope you are all well. I'm leaving you with a few pictures from Jia's medical appointment yesterday. She passed with flying colors! She weighs in at 15 lbs and boy do these old arms feel every pound! What a wonderful way to get in shape!

We are so glad to hear you are all safe and well--and terribly distressed for those in China who are not.
Jia seems very happy with her mom and vice versa. As to her afternoon fussiness, you may find that afternoons are her "witching hour"--there is often a specific time of day babies have a mini-meltdown (for your nephew Duncan, it was always around 430-5 PM, right when I needed to be cooking dinner!) and there may be little you can do to short-circuit it, other than learn to predict it and try to figure out strategies to counter it. For Duncan, that involved putting on the Black Crows' album, "Shake Your Money Maker" at high volume and dancing around the living room with him in my arms until his daddy got home. (This probably explains a LOT about Duncan's personality :-)).
We love and miss you all--come home to us soon!

Glad to hear that everyone is doing well. Beth you look great and have that sparkle in your eye that comes with motherhood.
T, I am glad you were able to visit Jia's 1st home and will be able to share a special moment in time with her for the rest of her life. You are already an AWESOME Daddy. You can see in the pictures she already has your heart and I am sure she will have you wrapped around that little finger. Ooops, probably has already happend.
Sending our thoughts, love, and support.
Glad to hear that you all are doing well. I know that you're ready to get home and get into a routine. Rick and I babysat our friend little girl that came from China last year. It's amazing how quickly they grow and learn! I love checking in everyday to see more pictures of little Jia! Safe travels and happy belated Mother's Day, I too am blog challenged!

Glad to hear you are all safe. Jia is about as cute as they get. i think all your prayers have been answered. Looks like you and Terrel have easily taken to parenthood. Please bring back some water bugs. They're my favorite snack in the evening with a little peanut butter and tabasco. Be safe and have fun.
Thank you for the photos and updates - your updates are a fun topic of conversation at the office. Jia is so lovely - you are doing great as a new mom. Congratulations!
