Red Couch Photo

One of the things consistently done here in Guangzhou by all adoptive families who pass through is to get a photo of all of the babies in a particular travel group on the red couch at the White Swan Hotel. Yesterday was the day for us and I've put together a little photographic progression of how this process worked for us and, of course, the beautiful babies themselves. You have no idea how slick those little silk Chinese dresses are and how challenging, at least for me, it is to put them on a wiggly, squirmy little peanut who is resisting the entire notion! All of the babies are so beautiful as you can see. Do you notice how well Jia is sitting? She is by far the youngest of the group and she is making such wonderful progress! You can see I got dressed up for the occasion. Oh please, I'm lucky just to get dressed and comb my hair these days! But I'm getting better at this everyday and soon I may no longer look like one of the walking wounded! Terrell and Grandma Barbara have both been wonderful and so very helpful. How come they can manage to still look so fabulous? Geesh.

Today we have her medical appointment and Terrell will be traveling to visit Jia's orphanage in Yangxi. Grandma Barbara and I will stay back here in Guangzhou since it is a 4 hour drive one way and I've decided I'd rather not subject Jia to such a long car ride again or take her back to the orphanage. Terrell will take many pictures and video for us to view and share with Jia. This means that Grandma Barbara, Jia and I get to shop!

Beth, you are doing fabulous and you look wonderful dear. Happy Mothers Day to you. I got tears in my eyes thinking about you, your mom and your daughter sharing this day together. That is what it is all about. I can't wait to see Terrell on Father's Day. Someone will have him right where she wants him. Ha Ha.
You rock Jia. Keep them busy now.

Love to all...from Greg and I.

Beth, you look like the happiest mother around. I am very excited for you. We have had nothing but rain here --- looking at you T and Jia it is all sunshine there.

Keep smiling girl -- you are doing great. The silk dress is only the beginning.
