Today is the 2nd month anniversary of Jia Day - in two months we've accomplished alot! We have alot of talking (unintelligible - but talking none the less), pretty darn good crawling, shaky but determined standing (while holding mom and dad's fingers) and one more tooth. Whew. On the mom side I'm much less sore although I can always tell when Jia's but on more weight as I feel it the next day. I am once again accomplished at both sitting and laying on the floor for hours -----with a nod to my college days when I did that all the time with no pain. Jia smiles almost all the time, she giggles and wiggles and grabs for Nora (our dog). I no longer notice the state of our house and a few pics here show what it looks like a great deal of the time. I keep trying to get her bottles and formula adjusted and she completely resists my attempts. The picture of the counter shows the results of my trying to prepare just one bottle this afternoon. Jia has no interest in a different formula or the new BPA free bottles I'm trying. But I'll keep at it! She does like regular food now - as long as it's pure sugar in the form of icing or cream in the form of banana pudding! But try to sneak a little something healthy like sweet potatoes and all hell breaks loose! She is the light of our lives - no question. I read alot of blogs waiting for Jia and many said they couldn't imagine their lives without their new child and I feel the same way. I do, however, distinctly remember what I did with all my time before motherhood - reading, watching old movies and being a general couch potato. I paid for all that inactivity in the level of pain I experienced adjusting to a very active and easily bored infant - but boy - I sure don't miss those days - much :)
Here's to Jia - love you kiddo.
I've included a couple of additional pictures of Jia with her Grandpa - she LOVES her Grandpa and Grandma - she loves being at their house and making it look like her own. And they love it too! Thanks mom and dad.
