Natural Sailor

We had our first boating adventure of the season last weekend. We didn't actually sail - just stayed in the slip and let Jia get accustomed to the boat. (Thus no PFDs in the pics.) Exhausting for the parents - but pure fun for Jia! We're in for a heck of a season. Her daddy has found a natural sailing partner (whereas with the mom - not so much). Sorry for the delay in posts - life is, well, overwhelmingly busy at times. But very, very good!

Long time sailor, water lover, and have many family and friends who live on the water. And a 3 yo who is a fish.

My niece had to be able to swim around our boat before she could ditch the PFD at age 12

Unless a boat is in dry dock, PFD

Water and Children = PFD

I know it is none of my business but as soon as I saw your cutie on the bow and no PFD I cringed.

Sorry, just really big on boating safety.

Thank for your thoughtful comments. Yes, we too are long time sailors and no worries about Jia's safety. She is never out of our hands on the boat! Whether sailing or at the dock. And yes, I absolutley agree about the necessity of PFDs! This makes being on the boat whether above decks, below decks or under sail very different than before! At this stage I can't help handle the boat when sailing so we must have extra help. I don't believe a child this age should be outside of her parent's grasp even WITH a PFD! Exhausting for the parents so I limit her time on the boat due to my energy level! heh heh. Thanks for stopping by.

Love the pictures!! Jia is so beautiful.

I agree about the PFD, but will not say anything since my own little stubborn man had an issue with a PFD this weekend. Long story!!! But you will get a laugh!!
